Season's Greetings!

The annual Birch Brook Nordic Ski Club Open House will be held this Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Birch Brook Chalet is a pleasant place to hang out for an hour or so with family and friends. Even if we don't have enough snow for skiing or snowshoeing (fingers are still crossed!), the trails are still very nice for nature walks. Please encourage everyone you know to drop by!

See you there! Merry Christmas!

Birch Brook Nordic Ski Club president Graham Moorhouse (left) congratulates Tom Huller on winning the Christmas gift and dinner baskets. (larger version)
The winning raffle ticket was drawn today. The prize looked fantastic – a beautiful basket full of gifts, most of them mystery gifts as they were covered by so many gifts on top; a hamper full of food for Christmas day, including cakes and puddings, turnip, onions, brussel sprouts, pickles, cookies, stuffing, butter and loads more...and then a box with a ham and a turkey.

Mr. Tom Huller was the winner and we delivered the prize immediately. Tom works at 5 Wing and he was very surprised when he saw just what he had won. Steve Gregory sold him the ticket, so Steve won our seller's prize – a pair of snowshoes.

Thanks once again to everyone for all the effort that was put into this year's raffle. It was a huge success.

Merry Christmas.

The Birch Brook Nordic Ski Club has a new look and a new home on the World Wide Web. Thanks for visiting the redesigned site. This is still a work in progress and there is much to do to make it a full-fledged source of cross country ski and snowshoeing information in the Upper Lake Melville area.

Thanks to people like Jamie Snook and Doug Robbins of SmartLabrador for their valuable contributions in helping the Birch Brook Nordic Ski Club achieve its aim of serving the needs of its members and...
